Most handymen can fix a squeaky door. Most physical therapists can help you move better. But finding someone who does both? That's a little harder.

Hi, I'm Karl Lutschewitz — a licensed doctor of physical therapy and a seasoned finish carpenter, and I've spent the better part of my adult life working with my hands and my head in equal measure. My woodworking roots go back nearly 30 years, starting with a two-year apprenticeship under a custom cabinet maker. Since then I've built, repaired, renovated, and re-imagined spaces of all kinds — including my own historic home in Winston-Salem's Ardmore neighborhood, which has been my most hands-on classroom yet.

After a decade as a physical therapist, I've learned something most contractors never have to think about: the way a space is built has a direct impact on the people living in it. I've spent years helping patients set goals, navigate their homes safely, and plan for the long haul — including aging in place with comfort and confidence. That perspective changes the way I look at every project.

At SolidKraft, I bring that same mindset to every job — whether it's a full kitchen remodel, custom cabinetry or built-ins, a finished basement, new flooring, or just a long-overdue handyman list. And when a project calls for other trades or specialists, I know who to call and how to coordinate that, too.

When you work with me, you're not just getting someone who can swing a hammer. You're getting someone who will listen to what you actually need, think about how your home serves you now and how it needs to serve you later, and make sure the result is something you're genuinely proud of.
